Add Andru to your MCP client

Andru runs as a local MCP server from the mcp-server-andru-intelligence package (version 1.7.0). It gives your client 32 tools and 3 resources, answered from your Andru account.

Requirements

Node.js 18 or later, and an API key from Settings › Developer. Each client starts the server itself with npx; nothing else to install.

Claude Desktop

Open Settings › Developer › Edit Config, add Andru, save, and restart Claude Desktop.

Settings

Variable	Default	What it does
`ANDRU_API_KEY`	None (required)	Your API key. Without it the tools are listed but cannot run.
`ANDRU_API_URL`	https://api.andru-ai.com	The Andru API address. Leave it unset.
`ANDRU_CACHE`	On	Keeps recent answers in a local cache at `~/.andru/cache.db`. Set to `false` to turn it off.

What it costs

MCP and A2A share one price list, one wallet and one free allowance. Lookups are always free. On top of that, 25 free calls a month, shared across MCP and A2A, cover paid calls priced $5 or less (consultations and catalog assets are always paid). Calls that only ask for more information never count. Every tool's price is on the tools page.

Troubleshooting

What you see	What to do
“could not determine executable to run”	An older copy (1.6.0 or earlier) is cached. Use `mcp-server-andru-intelligence@latest` in the args once, or run `npx clear-npx-cache`.
Tools listed, but every call fails	The key is missing or revoked. Check `ANDRU_API_KEY` and create a new key if needed.
“Insufficient funds”	The call is paid and the free allowance is used up. Top up the wallet in Billing.
A tool asks what you sell	Tell it once with `set_product_context` (your website is enough). Clients that support forms ask you directly.
“No ICP profile found”	Run Pure Signal in Andru first; profile tools answer from it.
